What is the best area to ski?

Iceland is the place that has the most winter wonderlands. It's located in Northern Europe which means that it gets more sunlight than other places. But, it also offers the chance to see nature at its best. Iceland offers adventure seekers a natural paradise with everything from volcanoes, waterfalls, and glaciers.

These are just a few reasons Iceland might be your new favourite destination, even if your decision isn't made yet.

  1. The scenery - National Geographic described Iceland as "a place of fire and ice." Many active volcanoes can be found on this tiny island, including Mount Hekla. This is the largest recorded eruption. Iceland is famous for its beautiful landscapes. It doesn't matter if you choose to explore Iceland on foot, or take a helicopter ride above the lava fields. You'll feel like you are living in another dimension.
  2. Icelanders are friendly and welcoming. As such, they welcome tourists from all over the world with open arms. A traditional Icelandic greeting, Hvalur Hjarta (Warm Heart), is used to welcome visitors. Locals enjoy showing guests around their country and telling stories about their heritage.
  3. The wildlife - Iceland might seem like a desert. Although it doesn't receive nearly as much rainfall as other parts of Europe, Iceland is covered in lush green forests. The mountains of Iceland are home to many birds, animals, fish, as well as insects. Early settlers initially brought many plants found in Iceland from North America.
  4. Culture - Iceland's history dates back thousands of year, and its people are proud of this unique culture. Iceland has no shopping centers or casinos. Tourism plays an important role in Iceland's economy. It's not expensive to travel here - many tourists report that they spend less in Iceland than Las Vegas.
  5. The Cuisine - What would a list of reasons to travel to Iceland be without talking about the local cuisine? Icelanders are well known for their delicious seafood, lamb and reindeer meats, as well vegetables. Icelandic food is not the only thing visitors can enjoy while visiting Iceland. Restaurants worldwide offer Icelandic cuisine. For example, French restaurants offer items like chicken soup made with puffin eggs, and Italian eateries prepare pasta topped with salmon.
  6. The nightlife – You may think Iceland is just a quiet getaway spot. But, you would be wrong. You should consider staying awake until the late hours when visiting Iceland. Foreigners can enjoy bars and clubs throughout the week as well as on weekends.
  7. The weather is - While Iceland occasionally experiences extreme temperatures, the general climate is moderate and stable. Iceland is not expensive. If you want proof, look no further than the Reykjavik Grapevine Festival, one of the biggest music festivals in the Northern Hemisphere. Over 100,000 people attended this festival last year.
  8. Safety - Iceland is very safe. But there are some precautions that you can take to make sure that Iceland stays out of harm's path. Don't wear expensive jewelry, especially diamonds. Also, don't leave your valuables unattended in any public place. If you do decide to hike through the countryside make sure that someone knows where you are.
  9. Education – If you're a Icelandic speaker, you can share your knowledge with others to better understand Icelandic. Getting involved in Icelandic politics is also possible, which will help you learn more about the culture.
  10. Freedom - Iceland's liberal policies have made it increasingly popular among tourists. The government was required to create legislation banning police officers from asking excessive questions. They're not after anyone who breaks laws but after tourists who may inadvertently violate some rules.
  11. The environment – Iceland's isolated island has kept it relatively untouched by humankind. The country has a unique natural beauty. Iceland's modern civilization is far less advanced than European countries. You could easily walk across the whole land in two days.
  12. Health care - Iceland has excellent healthcare, and medical services are generally very affordable.

Where can you find the most beautiful snow?

This question is not easy to answer as beauty is subjective. However, some popular contenders for the most beautiful snow-covered landscapes include Banff National Park in Canada, the Swiss Alps, and Mount Fuji in Japan.

Snow is everywhere and you don't know where it might be. We don't even know there are mountains of snow or ice. Since thousands of years ago, we've heard stories about snow. It's amazing how much our perceptions change as we discover more about the world.

Although snow can seem all around, it is quite rare. Only 1% is covered with snow and ice. To find the most beautiful snow you have to go somewhere unique.

No matter where you choose to look, snow is an amazing sight. It is impossible to describe how it feels to see snow gently falling onto a mountain peak. You shouldn't miss these beautiful places just because they are too far away.

The best way to experience snow is to travel to a place where it's common. You will likely be able to see some stunning scenes if you choose to visit a resort or glacier near your destination. Even if you don’t live near any of these places, you can still go online to see them. Many websites provide information about snowfall from space. This gives you an idea of how large the snowflakes are.

A local ski hill, or hiking trail might be worth your time. You will often find signs at these spots that mark the areas where there is heavy snow. This information will help you plan your trip.
