Visitors also love the fact that the landscape remains beautiful throughout the year. Tourists can also go cross-country skiing, sledding and tobogganing in addition to skiing.

Seoul is a popular place to visit in winter for anyone interested in Korean culture. There are many festivals and other events that take place in Seoul. One such event that is regularly held in the city is the Winter Night Market.

Korea is a great place to shop if you're looking for activities as well as shopping. Many stores offer deep discounts in the winter, which makes it much easier to buy items that otherwise would have been too expensive.

A great advantage to visiting Korea in this season is the low prices. Because most people are back home, there are fewer tourists. As a result, hotels, restaurants, and shops offer special deals that encourage customers to spend money.

Where is the best place to vacation with snow?

Iceland is the place that has the most winter wonderlands. It is situated in Northern Europe so it receives more sunlight throughout the day than most. However, the best thing about Iceland is the fact that it allows visitors to experience nature at it's finest. From glaciers to volcanoes and waterfalls to geysers, Iceland is a natural paradise for anyone seeking adventure.

But if you're still not sure if Iceland is right for you, here are some reasons Iceland may be your favorite vacation destination.

  1. The scenery - National Geographic has described Iceland as "a land of ice and fire." It's true. Many active volcanoes can be found on this tiny island, including Mount Hekla. This is the largest recorded eruption. Iceland is not only known for its volcanoes but also for its stunning landscapes. The country is a great place to explore on foot or by helicopter.
  2. Icelanders are known for their friendly and warm nature. They are open to tourists from all parts of the world and welcome them with open arms. Visitors are welcomed with a traditional Icelandic greeting called Hvalur Hjarta. The locals love to show their guests around their beautiful country as well as sharing stories about the history of their homeland.
  3. The wildlife – You might mistakenly think Iceland is a desert. Iceland gets less rain than other areas of Europe but is still covered with lush green forests. The mountains of Iceland are home to many birds, animals, fish, as well as insects. Many plants that were originally found in Iceland were first brought by the early settlers from North America.
  4. The culture - Iceland has a rich history that dates back thousands years. The locals are proud to be part of this culture. There are no casinos or shopping malls in Iceland; tourism plays a big role in the economy. It's not expensive to travel here - many tourists report that they spend less in Iceland than Las Vegas.
  5. The Cuisine – What list of reasons to travel Iceland would be complete without mention of the local cuisine. Icelanders are well-known because of their rich and hearty cuisine that includes seafood, lamb meat, reindeer meat, and vegetables. Visitors don't have to eat Icelandic food when they visit the country. Restaurants worldwide offer Icelandic cuisine. French restaurants have chicken soup made with puffin egg yolks, while Italian restaurants make salmon-topped pasta.
  6. The nightlife – You may think Iceland is just a quiet getaway spot. But, you would be wrong. Icelanders should be prepared to stay up until the wee hours of the morning when they visit. The bars and clubs offer entertainment for foreigners throughout the week, and even into the weekend.
  7. The weather - Iceland's climate is generally mild and stable, although it can experience extreme heat. Iceland is a great place to visit, and it won't break the bank. For proof, you can look no further than Reykjavik Grapevine Festival. It is one of Europe's largest music festivals. Over 100,000 people attended this festival last year.
  8. Safety - Although Iceland is safe, there are certain precautions you should follow to stay out of harm's way. Avoid wearing expensive jewelry, especially diamonds. Keep your valuables safe and secure in public places. Finally, ensure someone knows where to find you if hiking through the countryside.
  9. Education - Icelandic language students can use their knowledge to help others. Participating in Icelandic politics will allow you to learn more about the culture.
  10. Freedom – Iceland has gained popularity among travelers due to its liberal policies. The government was forced to pass legislation prohibiting police officers asking too many questions. They don't want to go after people who break laws, but tourists who inadvertently do so.
  11. The environment: Iceland is an isolated island which has been left relatively untouched. The country's natural beauty is unique. Iceland is a far cry from European countries. You could walk across the entire land in under two days!
  12. Health care - Iceland has excellent healthcare, and medical services are generally very affordable.

New York's Olympic Center can be found in Lake Placid. Here figure skaters compete each four years at The Winter Olympics. It's one the most popular places in the country for ice-skating.
