Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the most beautiful snow?

This question is not easy to answer as beauty is subjective. Some of the most popular snow-covered landscapes are Banff National Park, Canada, the Swiss Alps and Mount Fuji, Japan.

There is snow everywhere. There are mountains of snow and ice that we barely even knew existed. We've been told stories about snow for thousands of years, and it's incredible how much our perception of reality changes when we learn more about the world.

Although snow seems ubiquitous, its beauty can be very rare. Only 1% of the Earth's surface is covered in snow and ice. To find the most beautiful snow you have to go somewhere unique.

It doesn't matter where you are, snow can be seen everywhere. It's impossible to describe the feeling of seeing snow fall gently onto a mountain peak or drifting across a frozen lake. These places aren't too far or too cold to miss, so don't forget them.

To experience snow, you should travel to areas where it is most common. It is possible to view breathtaking scenes from your destination if it is close to a ski resort. You can also visit these sites online even if your destination is not near one of them. Many websites provide information about snowfall from space. This gives you an idea of how large the snowflakes are.

A local ski hill, or hiking trail might be worth your time. These places often have signs that indicate where heavy snow falls. This information can help plan your trip.

Where is the best place to vacation with snow?

Iceland is the only place you will find a lot of winter wonderlands. It's located in Northern Europe which means that it gets more sunlight than other places. But, it also offers the chance to see nature at its best. Iceland offers adventure seekers everything they need, from glaciers to volcanoes to waterfalls to geysers.

However, if you still haven't decided whether you want to spend your next holiday in Iceland or not, here are some reasons why this destination may become your new favourite:

  1. The scenery. National Geographic called Iceland "a land full of fire and ice." Many active volcanoes can be found on this tiny island, including Mount Hekla. This is the largest recorded eruption. Iceland is famous for its beautiful landscapes. It doesn't matter if you choose to explore Iceland on foot, or take a helicopter ride above the lava fields. You'll feel like you are living in another dimension.
  2. Icelanders are known to be friendly and open-hearted. International tourists are welcomed to Iceland with open arms. A traditional Icelandic greeting, Hvalur Hjarta (Warm Heart), is used to welcome visitors. Locals love sharing their stories and showing their guests around the country.
  3. The wildlife - Iceland may seem deserted, but that's not true. Although it doesn't receive nearly as much rainfall as other parts of Europe, Iceland is covered in lush green forests. You will find many different species of birds, animals, fish and insects in its mountains. Many plants from North America were brought to Iceland by early settlers.
  4. The culture - The history of Iceland dates back thousands of years, and the locals are proud of their unique culture. There are no casinos or shopping malls in Iceland; tourism plays a big role in the economy. Travelling here won't cost you a fortune - many travellers even report spending less money while visiting Iceland than in Las Vegas.
  5. The Cuisine. What list would be complete without mentioning Iceland's delicious cuisine? Icelanders are well-known because of their rich and hearty cuisine that includes seafood, lamb meat, reindeer meat, and vegetables. While visiting Iceland, tourists don't have to only eat Icelandic foods. Restaurants in other countries offer Icelandic recipes and ingredients. French restaurants may offer chicken soup made from puffin eggs; Italian restaurants might serve salmon-topped pasta.
  6. The nightlife – You may think Iceland is just a quiet getaway spot. But, you would be wrong. Icelanders should be prepared to stay up until the wee hours of the morning when they visit. You can find bars and clubs that keep you entertained during the week and on weekends.
  7. The weather – Although Iceland is subject to extreme temperature fluctuations, it has a mild and stable climate. Because of this, travelling to Iceland isn't going to break the bank. For proof, you can look no further than Reykjavik Grapevine Festival. It is one of Europe's largest music festivals. This festival attracted over 100,000 people last year.
  8. Safety - Although Iceland is safe, there are certain precautions you should follow to stay out of harm's way. You should not wear expensive jewelry, particularly diamonds. Also, don't leave your valuables unattended in any public place. Finally, ensure someone knows where to find you if hiking through the countryside.
  9. Education - Icelandic language students can use their knowledge to help others. Being involved in Icelandic politics can help you gain more knowledge about the culture.
  10. Because of its liberal policies, Freedom - Iceland is becoming more popular with travelers. It was necessary to pass legislation that would prohibit police officers from asking too many question. They don't want to go after people who break laws, but tourists who inadvertently do so.
  11. The environment - Because Iceland is such an isolated island, it has remained relatively untouched by humans. This has given Iceland a natural beauty that is quite unique. Iceland has a very low level of modern civilization compared to other European countries. You could easily walk across the whole land in two days.
  12. Healthcare - Iceland offers excellent healthcare and is generally affordable.

Where can I see snow in December?

The Alps will experience snowfall in December 2022. Significant snowfalls will also be recorded in the Arctic Circle.

Snowfalls over the Alps, Pyrennes, Caucasus Mountains Himalayas and Andes Mountains are expected to last several days. This will create an ice-free corridor that runs along the Mediterranean Sea.

The Arctic Circle will also experience heavy snowfall. This will lead to record-breaking low temperatures in North America as well as Europe.

It is expected that the United Kingdom will also experience a very cold, snowy winter.
