Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find snow in December?

The Alps will experience snowfall in December 2022. Significant snowfall will also be experienced in the Arctic Circle.

Snowfalls over the Alps, Pyrennes, Caucasus Mountains Himalayas and Andes Mountains are expected to last several days. This will create an ice-free corridor that runs along the Mediterranean Sea.

Heavy snowfall is expected to also affect the Arctic Circle. This will cause record-low temperatures across Europe and North America.

The United Kingdom is also forecast to have a very cold and snowy winter.

What is the best area to ski?

Iceland is the only place you will find a lot of winter wonderlands. Because it is in Northern Europe, Iceland receives more sun during the day than many other places. This allows it to offer visitors the opportunity of experiencing nature at its best. Iceland offers adventure seekers everything they need, from glaciers to volcanoes to waterfalls to geysers.

Here are some reasons Iceland may be your new favorite destination if you haven't yet decided whether to go on your next vacation.

  1. The scenery - National Geographic has described Iceland as "a land of ice and fire." It's true. The small island nation of Iceland is home to many active volcanoes. One such eruption is Mount Hekla. In addition to volcanoes, Iceland is also known for its amazing landscapes. Whether you explore the country on foot or take a helicopter ride over the lava fields, you will surely feel like you're living in another world!
  2. Icelanders are known to be friendly and open-hearted. Tourists from all corners of the globe are welcomed with open arms by Icelanders. A traditional Icelandic greeting, Hvalur Hjarta (Warm Heart), is used to welcome visitors. The locals love to show their guests around their beautiful country as well as sharing stories about the history of their homeland.
  3. The wildlife - You might think Iceland is a desert, but you'd be wrong. Iceland gets less rain than other areas of Europe but is still covered with lush green forests. There are many species of birds, fish, and other animals that call Iceland home. The first settlers brought plants from North America to Iceland.
  4. The culture – Iceland's unique history dates back thousands. Iceland doesn't have any shops or casinos. Tourism plays a significant role in Icelandic economy. It's not expensive to travel here - many tourists report that they spend less in Iceland than Las Vegas.
  5. The Cuisine - There are many reasons to visit Iceland. But what would a list be without mentioning the local cuisine? Icelanders are well-known for their hearty meals consisting of seafood, lamb, reindeer meat, and vegetables. But visitors don't have the obligation to eat Icelandic cuisine while they are in Iceland. Restaurants around the world offer Icelandic-inspired dishes and recipes. French restaurants serve chicken soup with puffin eggs and Italian restaurants prepare salmon-topped pasta.
  6. Nightlife in Iceland - If you thought Iceland was a peaceful vacation spot, then you are wrong. When visiting Iceland, you should plan to stay awake until the early hours. You can find bars and clubs that keep you entertained during the week and on weekends.
  7. The weather is - While Iceland occasionally experiences extreme temperatures, the general climate is moderate and stable. Iceland is a great place to visit, and it won't break the bank. Reykjavik Grapevine Festival has been described as one of the most important music festivals in Northern Hemisphere. This festival attracted over 100,000 people last year.
  8. Safety - Iceland is considered safe. However, you need to take certain precautions to ensure your safety. You should not wear expensive jewelry, particularly diamonds. You should also ensure that your valuables are not left unattended in public areas. Finally, if you decide to hike through the countryside, ensure someone knows where you're going.
  9. Education - Icelandic language students can use their knowledge to help others. Being involved in Icelandic politics can help you gain more knowledge about the culture.
  10. Because of its liberal policies Freedom - Iceland has been increasingly popular with tourists. It was necessary to pass legislation that would prohibit police officers from asking too many question. They aren’t looking for anyone who breaks laws; they’re after tourists who might inadvertently be breaking some rules.
  11. The environment: Iceland is an isolated island which has been left relatively untouched. This gives the country natural beauty of a different kind. Iceland has a very low level of modern civilization compared to other European countries. You could walk across the entire country in just two days.
  12. Iceland's health care system is excellent and the prices for medical services are usually very reasonable.
